Review: Matt Damon stars in the thriller Sci-fi/political Elysium, Neill Blomkamps sequel to District 9, with Jodie Foster as Secretary Elysiums Sharlto Copley and Delaware as the main villain Kruger. Elysium is on par with Oscar-nominated District 9? Definitely not! Not even close, but it's still a solid Sci / fi entertainment. This film is more conventional than its predecessor, which is expected Blomkamp.The film starts very clich? and gave me some eye roll moments, but it quickly takes to reach mediocrity. They do this by calls political messages through film with relevance to the way today's society. Question our dealing with immigration, military, health care. What I found is important in this film. Clearly my Blomkamp and share each other's political stance. For someone else it might look like she is trying to write his message.I feel most of the cast was very under used. Jodie Foster's character really is not much to work with. She was just there to move the plot forward. Matt Damon serves its purpose as a main, but by no means of the imagination one of his best performances. They were overshadowed by Sharlto Copley. My God, he's big as Kruger! Soon will introduce in this challenging-sociopath with no regard for human life. The story really need this kind of menacing character. He is by far the best film positive. Another negative aspect of this film will be his rhythm. When we gave emotional scenes they stay long enough to settle down and give emotional impact he hoped for.Like District 9 delivers images. Using the best Weta Workshop has to offer. From his big guns human like robots to space station Elysium. Action set pieces were just as exciting as its predecessor. The film really manages all its budget to capture the screen. My biggest problem comes from overuse of shaky cam. It is used when characters simply walk the action sequences. I felt ninety percent of the film was shaky cameras. What made me a little dizzy, because unfortunately have to sit in the very front of the theater. It might have something to do with it as well.Neill Blomkamp again finds that he can compete with the best management genre films. Elysium shows more errors than the first film, but they are overwhelmed by the positive aspects, for me at least. It was a disappointment and it was a solid popcorn entertainment and smarter than the average science / fiction movie.
