Review: Pet Project Jon Favreaus, after ten years of big budget, burns efficiently, and fairly very special fantasy blockbusters, as charming as they come. The film follows a master chef (played by Favreau) is a railroad job and, as a last resort to open, food truck drives across the country with his young son and his sous-chef, had John Leguizamo, selling Cubano sandwiches. Along the way they were treated with food-porn at its best and the establishment of a set of characters that would make Woody Allen blush Oliver Platt, Dustin Hoffman, Sofia Vergara, Robert Downey Jr Scarlett Johansen, and a slew of the popular faces. This is still a far cry from Swingers - the plague that began scannána Vince Vaughn and only managed to charm everyone in the U.S. - but the man knows how to make light conversation smart comedy not feel stupid. There are far and indie / art-house but Favreau candid in saying he had no desire to make a contribution to movies, landing just in love based on a place, and the results gave the house down. |
